Mumbai (Maharashtra), August 30: The film 'Stree 2,' starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is breaking records at the box office and has now become the highest-grossing Hindi film in its second week.

Maintaining its strong performance in its second week, the film has earned a remarkable Rs 453.60 crore net. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, 'Stree 2' has surpassed the second-week earnings of other major films, including 'Baahubali 2' (Hindi), 'Gadar 2,' 'Animal,' and 'Jawan.'

Adarsh highlighted that the film’s success spans across urban centers and mass markets, showing impressive trends from multiplexes to single screens. With no major releases to compete with this week, 'Stree 2' is expected to continue its strong performance into the third week, with a significant spike anticipated over the weekend.

The film, directed by Amar Kaushik, faced competition from 'Khel Khel Mein' and 'Vedaa' upon its release on August 15 but quickly emerged as the preferred choice among audiences. Special appearances by Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar have also been well-received.

The original 'Stree,' released in 2018, was a hit, and its sequel has continued to build on that success.
